Brookdale Ramblers

The Brookdale Ramblers Section is open to all Brookdale club members.

We organise 3 events per month two rambles and a Stroll.
{Resting}

The first ramble is held on the second Sunday in the month covering distances 6 and 10 miles in all sorts of terrain. Refreshments are usually carried and eaten and drunk at a suitable point during the ramble.

Thursday Walkers Resting

{Christmas walk}

The second ramble takes place on the third Thursday in the month covering between 4 and 7 miles in terrain that is not as difficult as on the Sunday ramble. Normally lunch is taken at a pub at the end of the ramble, although some refreshments are taken to consume whilst on the ramble.

Christmas Walk 2003

{Morecambe Bay}

The strolls take place on the fourth Sunday in the month and are normally between 1.5 to 3 miles in length in mainly flat terrain with the minimum of Stiles and walked at a leisurely pace. Lunch is taken at the end of the stroll in a suitable pub or cafe.

All the walks have a leader drawn from the membership (this enables people to share their favourite ramble or stroll with others).

Morecambe Bay

There is a co-ordinator for each of the events for example Thursday Ramblers Co-ordinator.

{Near Daresbury}

Details of rambles and strolls appear on the Ramblers section of the Club Notice Board.

In addition to the above we have two coffee mornings a year and an annual lunch and special events for example last year 18 people tackled the Morecambe Bay Walk.
Couple the above with convivial company, exercise and a chance to see some of our lovely countryside and coast I think you will agree it represents good value for only £2 per year.
