LINGUISTS' SECTION
The Linguists Sections will be starting in September . Classes meet in
each others homes and numbers vary from 6 to 10 .
These are:
Welsh Group.

Spanish
The Spanish meet on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. : Leader David Singleton :

All Groups include people who are fluent in the language as a result of
study, work or profession, country of origin or having lived part of their life
in the country concerned. All meetings are in members homes . Please make
contact with those designated if interested in keeping your language skills
going. Conversation in the language takes place and people`s levels are
different so we aim cater for all comers with a basic knowledge in the
language.
Events:
The Linguists are now into their sessions meeting at each others houses
The french group have just started and hold their first meeting of the
year, They meet in the bar at the Brookdale. Theme for tonight is to choose a
letter and introduce words with that letter to make a suitable story,
The German group started last Tuesday and discussed their exploits over
Christmas. Six members attended.The next meeting will be at Sue Greenhaugh`s on

All are welcome, though we should point out that the objectives are to
maintain and develop a language skill and not to teach it.
The Groups continue to meet in each others homes with numbers varying from
6 to 10
The Linguists Section is " managed" by a dedicated and
enthusiastic Committee who arrange a number of Social Events for the whole
Section during the year. These range from coffee mornings to talks, slide
shows, dinners and entertainment, occasionally provided by Linguist Section
members.
The Section also support Annual Club Events, such as the Christmas Fayre
and the President' s Charity Day.
More details of events will be published as the season gets underway
Club Members who are interested in the social activities of the Linguists
Section are welcome to join as Social Members.
